Strategy Templates
Strategy templates are the fastest way to create a strategy from the UI. Choose a template, fill in the required fields, then review the generated DSL before running a backtest, paper trading, or live trading.
Templates are starting points, not promises of profitability. Always validate the generated logic and sizing before using real capital.
All multi-symbol templates use the same maximum universe size of 20 symbols. The limit does not vary by Signal, DCA, Grid, Cross-Sectional, or Custom DSL template.
Available Templates
| Template | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Signal | You want a single-instrument strategy driven by indicator or price conditions. |
| Grid | You want repeated limit orders around a price range. |
| DCA | You want to accumulate a position on a fixed schedule or condition. |
| Pair Trading | You want to trade spread mean reversion between two related assets. |
| Cross-Sectional | You want to rank a universe and rotate into leaders or laggards. |
| Arbitrage | You want to react to a price gap between two markets. |
| Custom DSL | You want to write or paste the strategy DSL yourself. |
Recommended Use
- Start with the closest template.
- Set symbols, timeframe, size, and template parameters.
- Review the generated DSL.
- Run a backtest when the template supports historical validation.
- Run paper trading before live trading.
- Move live only after checking exchange, symbol, size, leverage, and API permissions.
The agent can help choose a template, explain the generated DSL, and adjust parameters before you test it.
