Strategies

Strategies are the main workflow in HeyTraders. You can start from a template, write your own DSL, ask the agent for help, run a backtest, observe the strategy in paper trading, and then move it into live trading when you are ready.

Use a Template

Templates are the fastest way to create a strategy from the UI. Choose the strategy type, fill in the fields, review the generated logic, and run it through backtesting or paper trading before using real funds.

Write DSL

Use the strategy DSL when you want full control over entry, exit, sizing, indicators, and portfolio logic.

Ask the Agent

The default HeyTraders agent can help you turn a trading idea into a strategy draft, explain a strategy, adjust parameters, compare backtest results, and prepare a live trading setup.

  1. Start with a template or ask the agent to draft a strategy.
  2. Run a backtest.
  3. Review trades, drawdown, sizing, and assumptions.
  4. Run the strategy in paper trading.
  5. Move to live trading only after checking the exchange account, symbol, size, leverage, and API permissions.
